PSC prides itself on maintaining vendor-neutrality, including our Operational Technologies (OT) solutions for electric utility control center systems around the world. We work with our clients to design, implement, upgrade, test, and commission projects involving technology from various Energy Management System (EMS) and Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) system vendors.
PSC has implemented and provided utilities support for some time, including various control center systems in North America and the Asia-Pacific regions, with such core functions as:
- System specification and vendor evaluation to support system procurement
- Project and program management
- Solution architecture design and utility gate review/approval
- Technical implementation planning
- Software installation, configuration, and unit testing
- System integration, configuration, and verification
- Configuration management and DevOps
- System defect identification, management, and resolution
- System acceptance test management
- System commissioning planning and go-live transition support
- Post go-live operational systems support and evolution
Recently, PSC worked on OT projects involving AspenTech OSI EMS and ADMS technology including:
- Managing the procurement specification, evaluation, and selection process for several U.S. west coast Transmission utilities, evaluating and scoring the AspenTech OSI EMS and ADMS.
- Performing quality assurance planning and management as a subcontractor to OSI for a large Canadian utility implementing the AspenTech OSI EMS technology.
- Performing RTU Point-to-Point testing for a large mid-western US utility implementing the AspenTech OSI EMS.
- Performing legacy system and transition support to an Australian Transmission Network System Provider during implementation, validation, and transitioning to the AspenTech OSI EMS from an alternate vendor EMS.
- Working with a Canadian distribution utility to select, plan, implement, and test the AspenTech OSI ADMS.
PSC is proud to announce that we have now completed the qualification process to formally become an Delivery Service Provider (DSP) for AspenTech’s Digital Grid Management (DGM) platform. For more information: Digital Grid Management | AspenTech and AspenTech Partner Network & Program.
As a DSP, PSC is formally qualified to implement and deliver solutions to AspenTech DGM customers with governance and support as defined by the ISP program. The net result is an alternative delivery solution for clients with or about to receive Monarch based systems. Systems and solutions delivered by DSPs are fully supported under the AspenTech OSI delivery and support model.
As a multi-vendor consultancy, PSC’s team has experience and knowledge of best practices and procedures for configuring, managing, and operating utility EMS and ADMS solutions. PSC does not see predefined scope boundaries between the vendor system and the customer’s enterprise solution and instead focuses on the business solution and not just the technology delivery.
PSC’s multi-vendor knowledge enables a more seamless and stressless transition between control center systems. We implicitly understand the context for technical components of these systems and can map the feature and functionality adjustments between platforms and proactively identify gaps and find solutions. We will work to understand your requirements and develop the right solution for you, which may include an AspenTech DGM solution that can be quickly implemented, validated, and commissioned.
