Just as utilities have continued to invest in and break ground on transmission projects in the face of COVID-19, so too has EUCI managed to weather the storm, adapting to the challenges of the pandemic by transitioning to virtual conferences in 2020. PSC Technical Director Tracy Rolstad kicked off EUCI’s Transmission Upgrades and Expansion 2020 Conference, which took place on December 9-10.
“The conference went surprisingly well given the logistical challenges associated with providing a conference remotely,” said Tracy. “It was timely, relevant, and should help transmission planners think more broadly.”
Aaron Voss, Program Director of EUCI, was pleased with the outcome. “The Transmission Upgrades & Expansion Conference this past week was a big success thanks to the efforts of so many behind the scenes players,” said Aaron. “We want to offer a special word of thanks to our friends and collaborators at PSC Consulting for sponsoring this program and adding such a tremendous, industry-focused perspective to our utility members. Despite this unprecedented year, their support helps us continue to provide this industry one of its most important needs – connection, networking, and shared innovation.”
PSC Principal Architect John Camilleri spoke on day two of the event, addressing DER utilization and adoption in T&D markets. PSC continues to expand its engagement with the industry and looks forward to deeper involvement with EUCI and other knowledge-sharing platforms in 2021.
